Oct 20, 2015 I recently made this millstone and placed it in my garden yesterday. This section of the garden is being renovated, thus the bare dirt.... The millstone is 25" in diameter and 7" thick, thus I'm fortunate that it rolls easily.... It is still in the curing process. Mike

Step 1: Mix the Ingredients. Measure ingredients in a 1:1:1 ratio in proportion to the volume of your container. Combine Portland cement, perlite (or vermiculite) and peat moss in a large tub or container. Mix the ingredients well with your hands before adding 1 part water. Always wear gloves and a mask when mixing.
4 litres of sand. 12 litres of vermiculite. 3/4 cup of brown colorant. 3/4 of a bottle of acrylic admix (I think it was overkill on the admix) :).. but I just kept pouring and before I knew it most of the bottle was it set up for demolding and carving in about 24 hrs.
